Our team recently completed the reinstatement of nine steel guard rail panels at Ranton House in Brentford, ensuring full compliance with fall protection standards and restoring rooftop safety for the site.
The scope of work involved reattaching guard rails along one elevation of the rooftop where fixings had become compromised. Due to the weight and size of the panels, a three-man team was assigned to carry out the task, working carefully around solar panels and vegetation along the green roof system.
All panels were removed, inspected, and securely reinstalled using new fixings and hardware. In addition to the main reinstatement, the team carried out a full inspection of the remaining installed sections, making adjustments or replacing fixings where necessary to bring the entire system up to standard.
Once the reinstatement was complete, we performed full load testing on the guard rail system to certify its stability and safety. A new inspection tag was issued, confirming the system is safe for use for the next 12 months, in accordance with fall protection regulations.
As always, works were completed without disruption to building operations or occupants. The site was left clean, safe, and fully documented for the client’s records.
