Another high-standard safety installation completed by the Peak Access team — this time at 10 Hammersmith Grove, where we installed a self-closing gate and handrail system to protect a raised platform area.
The project was carried out over two days, starting with the setup of safe anchorage using the building’s structural steel beams. Our rope access team then marked out the precise locations for the handrail base plates according to site drawings and specifications.
Once the layout was confirmed, we drilled and fixed the base plates, vertical rails, horizontal supports, 90-degree angle joints, and finally, the self-closing gate system. All components were installed using torque wrenches and spirit levels to ensure everything was aligned, secure, and compliant with manufacturer specs.
Following installation, the system was load tested and tagged for a 12-month inspection cycle in line with fall protection compliance standards. The area was left clean and clear, with all waste and tools removed from site upon completion.
Projects like this highlight the importance of combining technical skill with strict safety standards. With zero disruption to building operations and no need for scaffolding, our rope access team ensured efficient delivery of the system while working at height in a safe, controlled manner.
At Peak Access Abseilers London, we don’t just reach difficult places — we make them safer. Whether it’s handrails, gates, or full fall protection systems, we deliver reliable, IRATA-standard solutions built to last.
